A Necessity For Life

Have you ever thought how blessed you are to be able to turn on a faucet and get good, clean water in response to your action?  What if you had to walk three hours to fetch a pail of water to quench your thirst or cleanse yourself and that water was dirty, but the only water available?  Well, this is the situation facing almost a billion people on this planet.  This is why I donate to Charity: Water.  Since operating expenses are paid by private donors, every penny donated by the public goes to the project of digging wells in areas around the world that are so desperately in need of something we most likely take for granted.

You may choose to donate $20, which will provide clean water for one person for 20 years, or you may decide to donate to a special project that is funded every September; either way, you will be giving the gift of a more healthy life to others not as fortunate as yourself.

  1. You have brought up something so important. Before I read this, my family had sponsored a child with another organization. But it was for the same reason--clean water was needed. We are blessed, not only to have clean water, but also to recognize the need for others. Thanks for writing about this.

  2. Thank you for your post about clean water. I have added the organization to my monthly charity pledges, so you have made one more difference in the world because you took time to post this.
Also, I was worried about you (which seems bizarre since you are only a blog site that I check occasionally) when you did not post for such a long time. I hope you are well.
    Best wishes...Julie

  3. Hi Julie.
Well, I guess you heard that I had another interesting experience added to my life story. The upside is that I met a lot of charming 80 and 90 year olds at the rehab center after my hospital stay. Home now and perhaps I will get busy on this blog once again. Take care and all blessings to you!
